Refund policy

Refund & Cancellation Policy

Thank you for choosing Behind The I Do. This policy explains what happens if your plans change.

Your booking fee
A booking fee of £150 (£300 for destination weddings) secures your date. Once it’s paid, I turn away other enquiries for your date, so after the cooling-off period below it is non-refundable. Your booking fee comes off your total package price.

Your 14-day cooling-off period
If you book with me online, by email or by phone, you have 14 days from the day you book to cancel for any reason and receive a full refund, including your booking fee. To cancel, just email me at [your email] within those 14 days. If your wedding falls within 14 days of booking and you’ve asked me to go ahead, you’ll pay for any work already done.

If you cancel after the cooling-off period

  • More than 6 weeks before your wedding: your booking fee is non-refundable. Nothing else is owed.
  • Within 6 weeks of your wedding: your balance has been paid and is non-refundable, because it’s very unlikely I can rebook the date. If I do manage to rebook it, I’ll refund your balance (but not your booking fee).

Changing your date
If you need to move your wedding, I’ll do my best to help. You can move your booking once at no extra cost to any date I’m available within 18 months of your original date, and everything you’ve paid moves with you. If I’m not available on your new date, the cancellation terms above apply.

If I can’t be there
In the unlikely event that illness or an emergency means I can’t attend, I’ll arrange an experienced Behind The I Do creator to cover your day. If I can’t, I’ll refund everything you’ve paid, including your booking fee.

Destination weddings
Any flights, accommodation or transfers already booked for your wedding are non-refundable if you cancel, unless the provider refunds me, in which case I’ll pass that on to you.

Free and founding couple bookings
If you cancel a free wedding, there is nothing to pay, except any travel costs already booked for your day. Founding couple bookings follow the same terms as above.

How to cancel
Email me at [your email] with your names and wedding date. I’ll confirm in writing and process any refund within 14 days, back to the original payment method.

This policy doesn’t affect your statutory rights.

Terms of Service

Terms of Service

These terms apply when you book Behind The I Do to capture wedding content for you. Please read them before booking. By paying your booking fee, you agree to them.

1. About me
Behind The I Do is run by [your full name], [trading as Behind The I Do / company name and number], based at [business address]. You can contact me at [your email].

2. Your booking
Your booking is confirmed once you’ve signed your booking form and paid your booking fee. Your package, date, venue, hours and price will be set out in your booking confirmation.

3. Payments
Your remaining balance is due 6 weeks before your wedding. If it isn’t paid by then, I’ll remind you, and if it’s still unpaid 7 days later I may treat your booking as cancelled under my Refund Policy.

4. On the day

  • Your coverage hours are set out in your booking. Extra hours can be added on the day at £75 an hour, if I’m available.
  • For bookings over 6 hours, I’ll need a short break and a hot meal, the same as your other suppliers.
  • I’ll work alongside your photographer and videographer and follow your venue’s rules. I can’t be responsible for moments missed because of venue restrictions, changes to your timings, weather or the actions of guests.

5. What you’ll receive

  • The Full Story and The Forever Edit: a sneak peek the same night, and your full gallery by 10am the next morning.
  • The Little Moments: your full gallery within 48 hours.
  • All packages: edited reels and highlight films within 7 days.
  • Your gallery stays online for 3 months, so please download everything you’d like to keep within that time.

6. Your content

  • All content is filmed on iPhone in a natural, candid style. I choose what to capture and how to edit it, guided by your planning questionnaire.
  • I keep the copyright to the content I create, and you’re free to share, post, print and keep it for your own personal use. Please don’t sell it or use it commercially without asking me first.
  • I’d love to share some favourite moments on my website and social media. If you’d rather I didn’t, just tell me before your wedding and I won’t. I’ll never share moments you ask me to keep private.
  • Free and founding couples agree I can share selected content and that you’ll leave an honest review.

7. Looking after your files
I back up your content during and after your wedding. In the very rare case that files are lost or damaged through equipment failure, my liability is limited to a refund of what you’ve paid.

8. Travel
Travel within 30 miles of Liverpool is included. Further UK travel is charged at 45p a mile, plus accommodation where needed. For destination weddings, flights, accommodation and transfers are added at cost, as agreed in your booking.

9. My responsibility to you
I’ll always provide my service with reasonable care and skill. My total liability to you is limited to the amount you’ve paid me. Nothing in these terms limits my liability for death or personal injury caused by my negligence, or affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

10. Your privacy
I only use your details to provide my service and keep in touch about your wedding. See my Privacy Policy for more.

11. Changes and law
I may update these terms from time to time. The version in place when you booked applies to your wedding. These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
